About Us

At Innerchild Haven, our mission is to provide a safe space for individuals to embark on a journey of self-discovery, healing, and empowerment. We specialize in supporting individuals who have experienced a range of childhood traumas, which include:

  • Sexual/Physical/Spiritual/Emotional abuse

  • Parental Neglect

  • Parental Separation/Divorce

  • Witnessing parental conflicts

  • Being forced to choose which parent to live with

  • Alcoholic parent(s)

  • Bullying

  • Taking up parental roles

  • Poverty

  • Losing loved ones

  • Home displacement

  • Rejection

  • Chromic mental illness/Disabling chronic illness in the family

  • Extreme rigidity, non-loving, perfectionist parent(s)

How Does it Work?

Our experienced and empathetic therapists will guide you towards gaining insight, self-awareness, and a balanced perspective. For sessions:

  • We offer ten weekly group therapy sessions, with a maximum of ten participants per group. Group sessions provide a supportive environment where you realize you're not alone.

  • Individual sessions are available upon request.

  • Sessions can be in-person or online based on your preference and availability.

  • Consistency and punctuality in attending all ten sessions are essential for maximum benefits.

  • If you need more sessions, you can discuss arrangements with your therapists.

Dr. Josephine W. Muchiri

Lois Kagwi

Josephine is a dedicated Clinical Psychologist with an impressive educational background, holding a doctorate degree in clinical psychology from Daystar University and a master's degree in guidance and counseling from Kenyatta University. With a keen focus on trauma-focused therapy, Josephine brings extensive experience in working with individuals and groups who have encountered various forms of trauma.

Her expertise lies in providing compassionate and effective support to those navigating through difficult life experiences. Josephine is deeply committed to helping her clients heal from past traumas, regain their strength, and cultivate resilience. Through her therapeutic approach, she empowers individuals to overcome obstacles and embark on a journey towards healing and recovery.

Lois is a compassionate and experienced counseling psychologist with a rich educational background, holding a BSc from the University of Nairobi and an MA in counseling psychology from International Leadership University. Currently pursuing a PHD in Clinical Psychology at Daystar University, Lois brings a deep understanding of human behavior and emotions to her practice.

With an impressive twenty-five years of counselling experience, Lois specializes in addressing childhood issues and traumas that impact adulthood, as well as relationship dynamics, marriage counseling, and family therapy. Her approach is rooted in empathy, insight, and a genuine desire to see individuals thrive.

Having witnessed the transformative power of one-on-one therapy over the years, Lois is excited to embark on a new journey of facilitating group sessions. By expanding her reach, she aims to touch the lives of even more individuals, helping them navigate challenges, foster personal growth, and ultimately, lead more fulfilling lives.
